Longleaf School of the Arts
Amari was one of the Top 20 Student Finalists with the DPAC Rising Star Awards Program. He was selected based on his performance as the Lion in the Production of the Wiz at Longleaf School of the Arts. Although he did not win, it was a fulfilling experience where he was able to work with some talented stars and learn from the best of the best in the city. The awards ceremony took place on May 9th, 2024 and was hosted by Clay Aiken!
The DPAC Rising Star Awards is part of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards and provides life changing experiences that launch the careers of Broadway's future stars. This wonderful program celebrates outstanding achievements in High School Music Theater throughout Central North Carolina. The program focuses attention on the meaningful work being done both on and off stage by dedicated students and teachers.

Amari is a Singer, Dancer, Actor, Student Extraordinaire. Amari has been in the Spotlight since before he was in Elementary School. He got his start performing at several venues across North Carolina and and is most known for his Michael Jackson performances. He pivoted into Musical Theater a few years ago. He will be starting his Senior Year of High School in the Fall at Longleaf School of the Arts. He has had leading roles in several productions at his school as well as with Raleigh ACT. He plans to continue his Acting Career while pursing a Law Degree in College.
